A mother and daughter were involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 26 Wednesday just before 10 a.m., Laurens County Coroner Nick Nichols said.Mary Pace Batson, 87,
died as a result of blunt force trauma while riding in the passenger seat of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, Nichols said.Batson's daughter, Judy White Batson, 62, was
driving west on I-26 near Exit 60 in Joanna when her car swerved and hit a guardrail, then swerved back across the interstate and overturned, Nichols said.The South
Carolina Highway Patrol said both the mother and daughter are from Columbia and were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.Judy Batson was airlifted to
Greenville Memorial and her condition has not yet been released.No other cars were involved in the crash.
