Hampton, N.H : Two teens seriously injured in crash on Route 101 in Hampton on Sunday morning, June 19, 2016

Two teenagers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 101 late Sunday morning, according to state police.

At approximately 11:48 a.m., a 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by Giovanni Lopes, 22, of Rochester, was traveling eastbound on Route 101 in Hampton with four passengers. As traffic slowed, the Avenger was struck from behind by a 2008 Jeep Wrangler driven by Brady Hallahan, 23, of Central Square, New York, according to a statement released by New Hampshire State Police – Troop A.

A 14-year-old male passenger in the Avenger suffered a serious head injury, and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was later taken by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
A 16-year-old female passenger suffered serious back and neck injuries from the crash, according to police. She was treated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

The other two passengers suffered minor injuries, while Lopes was uninjured, according to police.
Hallahan, the only occupant in the Jeep, suffered minor injuries, and was treated at the scene by members of the Hampton Fire Department.

“Driver inattention on the part of Hallahan appears to be a possible contributing factor in this accident,” police said in the statement. “However, all aspects are being investigated.”

Hampton police and fire departments as well as New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction unit assisted at the scene.
