An Effort woman died Sunday, the day after a Chestnuthill Township single-vehicle crash, according to state police at Fern Ridge.
Evelyn Santiago, 51, died at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital at 6:38 p.m. Sunday, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
Santiago crashed at 12:39 a.m. Saturday on Evergreen Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township, was transported to Pocono Medical Center and then flown by medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest where she died the next day.
According to state police, Santiago was driving a 2013 Kia Sorrento south in the right lane on Evergreen Hollow Road when she traveled off the right shoulder of the road on a right curve and struck a tree.
Police said that Santiago was wearing a seat belt.
Police said Evergreen Hollow Road was closed for about two hours.
