A lot of major news happened in mid-Michigan in 2017 including a well-known cyclist hit by a car and killed, and a four-year-old killed in a car crash.

• Avid mid-Michigan cyclist killed on bicycle-car crash

Mt. Pleasant man Mike Seaman, was hit by a car while riding his bike on June 27. He died from his injuries the next day at a hospital. In September, Isabella County woman Abigail Hebert was charged in connection with his death. Seaman was an avid cyclist who was well-known in Mt. Pleasant and the biking community. Hebert will be sentenced on Jan. 3 in Isabella County trial court by judge Eric Janes.
