Indianapolis, IN : Eight vehicles hit in I-69 crash on Monday, August 14, 2017
A semi-truck driver accused of rear-ending an SUV on I-69 set off a chain reaction that caused damage to eight cars and sent three people to the hospital, police say.
The southbound lanes of I-69 were closed for several hours while the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office investigated. Indiana State Police and Scott Township Fire Department also responded when the crash was reported shortly after 7 a.m. Monday.
Witnesses said a white semi-truck was traveling south on I-69 when it hit an SUV, part of a line of traffic stopped in a construction zone near the exit to Boonville-New Harmony Road.
