Gainesville, FL : Woman identified in deadly crash; 4-year-old dies on Friday, 28th October 2016
The Wesley Chapel woman who died in a car accident early Friday morning has been identified and the 4-year-old girl who was receiving treatment for her injuries died while receiving care.
Yvonne Goytia Diaz, 27, of Wesley Chapel, died at the scene of the accident Friday, which involved a collision with entrapment on U.S. 441 near Southwest 56th Place.
The accident took place at about 1 a.m. when a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Johana Lee Klinger, 29, of Okeechobee, and traveling south in the northbound lane of U.S. 441 collided head-on with a 2004 Toyota Scion driven by Diaz that was traveling north in its proper lane.
The collision heavily damaged both vehicles and left people trapped in one of the cars. The 4-year-old girl, who had been unaccounted for at first, was found under one of the vehicles and taken to University of Florida Health Shands, where she later died.
Klinger was taken to UF Health Shands for treatment with serious injuries.
Bryanna Georgia Williams, 19, of Micanopy, a passenger in the Scion and a relative of the deceased 4-year old, was taken to Shands with critical injuries as was a 10-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Jetta, according to the report.
Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
