Washington County, WI : Motorist killed in a crash near Highway WW in the Town of Addison on Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016

A motorist was killed in a Washington County crash Sunday afternoon.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another motorist was injured in the accident on Highway 33 near Highway WW in the Town of Addison, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department refused to reveal the gender of the dead motorist.

Highway 33 was closed for about 41/2 hours after the crash, which happened shortly after 3 p.m.

A vehicle traveling east on Highway 33 drifted over the centerline and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling west before striking another westbound vehicle. The deceased motorist, who was trapped and required extrication, was in the westbound vehicle struck by the car that moved over the centerline.

The driver who drifted over the centerline suffered a non-life-threatening injury. That person's gender was also not released by the Sheriff's Department.

Alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, authorities said.
