Stillwater, OK : Early morning accident injures two on Saturday, March 25th 2017
Two men were injured early Friday morning in a collision 1.5 miles north of Stillwater at the intersection of Yost Lake Road and Brush Creek Road.
According to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop K, at Shelby S. McMillen, a 21-year-old Piedmont man, was driving a pick-up northbound on Brush Creek Road at a high rate of speed. He ran a stop sign at about 5:58 a.m. and struck the car Tayler J. Perry, a 21-year-old man from Miami, was driving eastbound on Yost Lake Road.
Perry’s car went off the roadway to the left, went through a fence and rolled 1.5 times before coming to rest on its top.
OHP, Stillwater Fire Department and Life Net ambulance service responded to the scene. Both men were classified in stable condition and transported to Stillwater Medical Center by ambulance.
McMillen was treated for head injuries and released.
The OHP report says Perry was admitted for whole body injuries but Stillwater Medical Center records say he was treated and released.
Although it was raining at the time of the collision, the trooper’s report identifies reckless driving as the cause.
The drivers of both vehicles were wearing seat belts and neither was pinned or ejected.
