Orange, TX : Man seriously injured in a head-on car crash in Orange County on Monday morning, May 16, 2016
A Vidor man who was seriously injured in a head-on car crash Monday morning in Orange County is considered to be in stable condition with several broken bones, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The 60-year-old man was driving a 1988 Buick passenger vehicle eastbound on FM 1131 near 10-Mile Creek when he collided with a 2006 Chevrolet passenger vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at about 11:30 a.m., Trooper Stephanie Davis said.
Davis said the Chrevrolet's driver, a 24-year-old from Buna, lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lane.
The Vidor man was transported to a Beaumont hospital with serious injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition, Davis said.
The Chevrolet's driver, who was not injured, was ticketed for unsafe speed, Davis said.
