Butler County, PA : One man badly injured after vehicle crashes into Butler County home Monday May 16, 2016
A man was badly injured early this morning when the vehicle he was driving veered off a road and crashed into a duplex in Butler County.
County emergency officials said the crash was reported at 4:14 a.m. in the 100 block of Arthur Drive in Center.
The driver was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition was not immediately available and his identity was not released.
The vehicle veered off of Sunbury Road above Arthur Drive, went down a hill, struck a tree, and went airborne, crashing into the home, police said. The vehicle ended up on the driveway on the other side of the house. It was heavily damaged.
Barbara Kroh, who lives in the duplex, said the crash sounded like “a loud explosion.”
She said a brick shot across the corner bedroom where her niece was sleeping and debris landed on the bed right beside where she was laying. Her niece screamed but yelled out that she was OK as Ms. Kroh tried to get her bearings after the power was knocked out.
