Brooksville, FL : Live Oak man dies in single car crash in Hernando County on Saturday, January 23, 2016

A Live Oak man died Saturday at the scene of a single-car accident in Hernando County.

Ricky Cates Gardner, 56, was traveling eastbound on Hayman Road when his Toyota Corolla drifted off the road into the grassy shoulder, according to a news release.

He struck a concrete culvert and tree shrubs before coming to a final rest between a utility pole and guide wire.

Gardner was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
