Hastings , MN : Two People were killed and another Two were injured in a Head on Collision with SUV on Thurssday , December 11th 2014

Two people have died in a head-on collision near Hastings.

Dakota County Sheriff-elect Tim Leslie says a car crossed the center line on Ravenna Trail in a residential area south of Hastings and collided with an SUV just before 4 p.m. Thursday.

Leslie says the driver of the car and a passenger in the SUV died at the scene. The driver and another passenger in the SUV were taken to Regions Hospital. He says the driver is in critical condition while the passenger is in stable condition.

Investigators are still trying to determine why the car crossed the center line. The State Patrol is assisting.

The sheriff-elect says names of the victims have not been released because investigators are still looking for the next-of-kin of one person who was killed.
