Joplin, MO : Wheaton man died in a Two-vehicle crash in Newton County on Thursday, July 7, 2016
A Wheaton man was killed and two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at 5:48 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 86, two miles south of Granby in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Keith D. Bryant, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by a Newton County deputy coroner, the patrol said. His body was taken to Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.
One of the drivers, Michael R. Jarrett, 52, of Carl Junction, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with moderate injuries, the patrol said. The other driver, John A. Brewer, 20, of Granby, was taken to Freeman Neosho Hospital with minor injuries.
Bryant was a passenger in an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by Jarrett. Brewer was driving a southbound pickup truck and failed to stop for a stop sign, ramming into the driver’s side of the Jarrett vehicle, the patrol said.
A Carthage man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision at 10:36 p.m. Thursday on Fir Road, two miles east of Carthage in Jasper County, the patrol said.
Chad W. Hines, 34, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Hines was driving a westbound car when an International 4400 truck driven by Edward L. Becker, 63, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, pulled out of a private drive into his path, the patrol said.
