Carrollton, IL : Three people injured in a single-vehicle crash in rural Greene County early Wednesday, March 30, 2016
Illinois State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash in rural Greene County early Wednesday.
According to a release from ISP District 18, a 2002 GMC truck was traveling westbound on County Road 9 in Greene County at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when the truck left the roadway. The truck proceeded to roll over and came to rest in the roadway, per the release. All three of the vehicle’s occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
The driver was identified in the release as Jacob Fanning, 21, of White Hall. Also in the vehicle were Franklin Springman, 19, of Greenfield, and an unidentified 17-year-old from White Hall, per ISP.
Fanning and Springman were transported to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield by Survival Flight. The juvenile was transported to Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville by ambulance.
ISP said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. No citations had been issued as of Wednesday afternoon.
The crash is being investigated by Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
