WICHITA, KS : Seven hurt in southwest Wichita crash on Wednesday, August 16, 2017
A crash in Wichita Wednesday night left seven people injured. It happened just after 9 p.m. in the 2900 block of W. MacArthur between West and Meridian.
Sedgwick County Sheriff deputies said two vehicles, a 1997 Lincoln Town Car and 2007 Nissan Altima, struck head-on. Authorities said the Lincoln drove into the other lane causing the crash. Both drivers and a passenger suffered critical injuries. Four other passengers had serious or minor injuries.
Following the initial crash, a 25-year-old woman driving a 2009 Dodge Caliber hit debris. Her car was damaged due to striking a wheel in the roadway.
Authorities are investigating whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision.
