ASH TOWNSHIP, MI : Man who died in Wednesday’s crash identified on Thursday, March 9th 2017

The Carleton man who died in Wednesday's crash in Ash Township has been identified.


Jeffrey John Lefever, 50, died as a result of the two-vehicle crash.

The crash took place about 7 a.m. at the intersection of N. Telegraph and Carleton-Rockwood Rds.

A Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling south on Telegraph Rd. when the driver did not stop at the red light and collided with Mr. Lefever's Chevrolet Cavalier which was traveling east on Carleton-Rockwood Rd., Michigan State Police said.


Mr. LeFever was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Avalanche sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Beaumont Hospital, Trenton. The identification of the other driver was not released.

Troopers from the MSP Monroe Post were assisted by Ash Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance.

The Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to assist with the investigation as well, police said in a news release.
