Port Charlotte, FL : One dead in motorcycle crash on Wednesday, February 2nd 2017

A Port Charlotte man was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Aaron Wesley, 43, was riding a 2003 Kawasaki KX85 motorcycle south on Fireside Street, approaching a driveway at 1434 Fireside St. Stephen Lawrence, 61, was backing out of the driveway in a 2001 Chevy Suburban and failed to see Wesley approaching, the release stated.

Wesley applied his brakes and steered to the right. The left front side of his motorcycle struck the left rear of Lawrence’s vehicle, according to the release. The motorcycle entered the grassy southbound shoulder, rotated and turned on its side. Wesley fell off onto the shoulder. His injuries were fatal.
