Bakersfield, CA : Motorcyclist dies following collision with pickup on Sunday, January 29th 2017

A motorcyclist died Sunday after colliding with a pickup in southwest Bakersfield.

The motorcyclist, whose name has not yet been released, was traveling east on White Lane just east of Lily Drive when he broadsided a Toyota Tacoma pickup, police said. The pickup had been making a left turn from eastbound White Lane when the 3 p.m. crash occurred.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Police said the driver of the pickup was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It's unknown if the motorcyclist was impaired.
