A 17-year-old boy was killed and three other people were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center after a crash in Whitley County early Sunday.
The crash happened a little before 1:30 a.m. at U.S. 30 and Indiana 5 in Larwill, the Whitley County Sheriff's Department said.

Chase R. Beicher, 25, of Warsaw, was traveling west on U.S. 30 and did not stop at a red light at Indiana 5. A car carrying two teens, one of whom was the driver, Phillip D. Caudill, 16, Jack T. Burchett, 17, and Jacob T. Burchett, 18, all from Warsaw, was traveling north on Indiana 5 through the intersection, police said.

Beicher's truck hit the two-door Ford on the passenger side, pushing both cars 300 feet west, police said.

Jack Burchett died from his injuries.

Caudill suffered bleeding on his brain, a collapsed lung and a fracture in his right leg, police said.

Jacob Burchett was injured with multiple fractures in his right leg. Beicher was treated for cuts to his scalp, police said.

The crash is under investigation.
