Kirksville, MO : Lancaster teen suffers serious injuries in crash near Downing on Friday afternoon, November 4, 2016

A Lancaster, Mo., teen sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident Friday afternoon near Downing, Mo.

Josie L. Farley, 16, was taken to Scotland County Hospital by Schuyler County Ambulance after the accident on Route N, about 3.5 miles north of Downing, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Farley was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound when her vehicle crossed the center of the road. Farley overcorrected and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, overturned several times and Farley was thrown from the vehicle.

She was not wearing a seat belt, the report said.
