Logan,UT : Preston woman killed in Lewiston crash on June, Thursday 1st 2017

Three people were transported to local hospitals Friday night after a violent crash in Lewiston that ultimately claimed the life of a Preston woman.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Kraig and Ronda Alder of Preston were traveling eastbound on 1600 South just after 7 p.m. when their Dodge Dakota truck was hit broadside by another truck.

It appears both vehicles were traveling approximately 50 mph, said UHP Sgt. Cade Brenchley.

Samuel Cann of Preston, 20, was driving northbound on Main Street in a 2001 Ford 250 and failed to stop at the stop sign at that intersection and struck the Alder’s truck on the passenger side, causing it to roll onto its top, Brenchley said.

Ronda Alder, 52, was seated in the passenger seat of the Dakota, was severely injured and did not have a pulse at the scene. Brenchley said a probation officer in the area performed CPR but Alder died at the hospital later that evening.

Cann and Kraig Alder, 53, were also transported to local hospitals with injuries that are not life-threatening. None of them were wearing seatbelts, the UHP reported.
