Lake County, FL : 22-year-old Johnny Christian Figueroa killed in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Lake County on Monday, January 5, 2015

The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver and the vehicle in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Lake County.

Troopers said 22-year-old Johnny Christian Figueroa, of Clermont, was killed Monday around 10:45 p.m. when he was walking westbound across U.S. 27 and C.R. 474 from the east side of the roadway.

The driver hit Figueroa in the road then fled the scene, according to FHP.

Troopers said Figueroa died at the scene.

Investigators believe the hit-and-run driver was operating a black, older model Honda Accord.

Troopers said the car is likely missing a piece of its front bumper and its left side mirror. The car likely has additional damage to the front and front, left side, investigators said.
