Mansfield , MA: Five children among Eight injured in serious crash two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 Saturday ,September 5th 2015

Eight people - including five children – were injured Saturday after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Mansfield, officials said.

The crash involving two vehicles took place around 3 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway. Both vehicles were reported to have rolled over several times and both ended up in the woods, the Sun-Chronicle reported.

The crash occurred when a woman, 53, from Plainville lost control of her Lexus RX and veered into a second car, Massachusetts State Police said. The second vehicle was carrying two adults and five children.

The Plainville woman and a woman riding in the second car, a 2004 Nissan Armada, were both taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The others injured were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. The names of those injured were not released.
