Seattle, WA : Capitol Hill crash involves taxi, bicyclist, fire hydrant, light pole on Tuesday night August 19th 2014
There was a lot of commotion but no serious injuries in an overnight collision involving a taxi, a bicyclist, a fire hydrant and a light pole on Capitol Hill.
Police and medics responded to the crash, at 12th Avenue and East Yesler Way, at about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a taxi plowing into a fire hydrant.
Arriving at the scene, they found a bicyclist with minor injuries and a taxi on the sidewalk up against a light pole with serious damage to its front end. A fire hydrant had been knocked loose and was lying nearby on its side.
The taxi driver was unhurt in the accident.
Police were investigating exactly how the crash occurred and who was at fault.
