San Jose, CA : Motorcyclist killed in pickup truck hit-and-run crash on Tuesday December 15 2015

A motorcyclist was killed after he was rear-ended by a pickup truck whose driver fled the scene near the Santa Clara County fairgrounds Tuesday night, according to San Jose police.
The victim was riding westbound on Tully Road near Seventh Street around 9:30 p.m. when he was hit from behind by a white Ford F-250, police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia said. The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway.
After the collision, the truck took off in an unknown direction. The motorcyclist, described as an adult male, was taken to the hospital, where he died early Wednesday. His identity was not immediately released pending notification of his relatives.
The collision marked the city's 53rd traffic fatality of the year, and fifth in just over a week. It is the highest number the city has recorded in over two decades.
