OGDEN, UT : A 26-year-old man died after he was hit by a car on Monday, December, 18th 2017
A 26-year-old man died Monday after he was hit by a car earlier in the day.
Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford said police were called to a car crash near 400 W. Second St. at 7:20 a.m. Monday.
When first responders arrived, they found a man who had been hit by a Ford pickup while he was in the roadway. It was not immediately clear if the man was using a crosswalk at the time of the crash, Ledford said.
The man was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, Ledford said.
However, the man took a turn for the worse and he was pronounced dead about 3 p.m. Monday, Ledford said.
Police have yet to release the man’s name. Ledford said police are still in the process of notifying the man’s family.
Ledford said the case is still open and being investigated by the Ogden Police’s traffic unit.
Ledford also said it was unclear if the 58-year-old woman who was driving the pickup at the time of the crash would be facing criminal charges. Ledford said that will be determined at a later date once the investigation is finished.
