A Chester County man died from injuries suffered after his motorcycle was involved in a four-vehicle accident on Route 100 in Bally, Berks County, authorities confirmed Sunday.
Christopher Garber, 57, of Downingtown, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown with serious injuries from crashing his Harley-Davidson motorcycle Saturday afternoon. He died later Saturday night at the hospital. Two other drivers sustained minor injuries, police said.
An official cause of death had not been determined as of Sunday. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday.
The crash happened at the corner of Route 100 (Main Street) and Church Street in Bally borough at about 2:45 p.m. One of the other involved vehicles, an SUV, slammed into a house, which caused the front porch roof to collapse, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Reading and Eastern Berks Fire Department said.
No charges have been filed at this time, police said.
Route 100 was closed for hours as an accident reconstruction team investigated. The crash remains under investigation.
