It happened near Snoqualmie Pass at about 4 a.m. Sunday. Troopers say a 23-year-old man was driving a Ford Fiesta eastbound in the westbound lanes when he crashed into a GMC Suburban sport-utility vehicle towing a boat trailer.
The two people in the Suburban, a 50-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, were injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Investigators say they don't know if drugs or alcohol played a role. The highway was closed for more than four hours before the crash was cleared.
