Identity of motorcyclist killed Saturday released
Authorities have released the identity of the 33-year-old motorcyclist killed Saturday morning in a wreck on U.S. Highway 98.Glenn Lowell was crossing the westbound lanes at about 11:35 a.m. when he hit a vehicle attempting to make a left turn from the eastbound turn lane onto the access road leading to Home Depot, according to Nicole Wagner with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
Wagner said she does not believe Lowell was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Details on the wreck are not being released pending the investigation.Lowell, who was active-duty military, died at the scene. The condition of the driver of the vehicle, Edina Nicoloff, 36, of Destin, has not been released.Traffic on U.S. 98 was backed up for several hours with the westbound lanes closed for more than a half-mile.No charges were filed as of Monday morning, Wagner said.
