A 22-year-old woman from Martin was killed Tuesday, April 26, in a single-car crash on M-222.
According to Michigan State Police, they were called about 7:03 a.m. to M-222 near 19th Street, between Allegan and Martin.
Police said witnesses told them the woman was seen using her cell phone and swerving all over the road, before she drove off the right side of the road and her vehicle flipped over several times. Police said she appears to have been wearing a

seat belt, but was still thrown from her car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The state police received assistance from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, Wayland EMS and the Hopkins Township Fire Department.
