One person was killed and three others seriously injured in a crash in Orange City early Sunday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say at approximately 5 a.m. two cars collided at the intersection of State Road 472 and N. Kentucky Ave (County Road 4101) when one of the cars ran a red light.
The car legally driving through intersection was struck on its right side and overturned. The car's driver, Jessica Winnett, 33, of DeLeon Springs, died from injuries sustained in the crash at Central Florida Regional Hospital.
The driver of the car that ran the light, Chaz Cummings, 20, from Lake Helen, was also rushed to Central Florida Regional hospital after the crash. Cummings is currently listed in critical condition.
Two of the three passengers in Cummings' car, Lauren Goose, 19, and Shelby Snider, 21, were taken to Halifax Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. They are currently listed in serious condition.
The car's final passenger, Jake Kuchler, 18, was taken to Florida Hospital Deland and treated for minor injuries.
Charges against Cummings are pending, as the crash remains under investigation.
