Erie, PA : One hurt in pair of 3-vehicle accidents on I-90 on February, Monday 12th 2018
One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment after three tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 90 in Girard Township just before 2:30 p.m. Monday, state police said.
The driver of the lead tractor-trailer said he hit the brakes to avoid hitting a woman chasing her dog into the median and into the eastbound lanes in front of the truck. The truck was hit from behind by another tractor-trailer, police said. A third large rig hit the back of the second truck. The truck in the middle caught fire and its driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Police said the woman chasing the dog had brown hair, was heavy set and was wearing blue clothing and driving a blue car. Anyone with information about her or the accident is asked to call state police at 774-9611.
No one was hurt in another three-vehicle accident on I-90 west of the crash about 45 minutes later, police said.
A 20-year-old Girard woman apparently failed to see stopped traffic ahead and drove into the back of two other vehicles, police said.
