One man is dead after a vehicle accident in Snyder County late Sunday evening.
Selinsgrove State Police said emergency responders discovered 65-year-old Thomas H. Shartzer, of Beavertown, dead on the scene along Route 522 in West Beaver Township at 11:18 p.m.
Shartzer reportedly was traveling north around along Route 522 when he passed another vehicle traveling in the same direction.
Police said Shartzer then lost control of his vehicle. He exited the right side of the roadway, struck four fence posts and then a telephone pole.
The vehicle then allegedly spun counter-clock wise and went through a field. Police said the vehicle came to a stop facing north.
Shartzer was not wearing a seat belt at the time and sustained fatal injuries, said Police.
Bannerville EMS, Beaver Springs Fire and EMS, McClure Fire Department, the Snyder County Coroner, Mount Pleasant Mills Auto Wreckers and TFC. Craig Magnuson assisted on the scene.
Investigation into the crash is on-going.
