MEMPHIS, MO : Memphis man dies in Scotland County crash on Saturday, 5th November 2016
A Memphis man died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Scotland County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2001 GMC Sierra driven by James H. Martin, 46, of Memphis, was traveling west and a 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Kelvin D. Diller, 16, of Rutledge, was traveling east on County Road 213, seven miles southeast of Memphis, at 12:10 p.m. The patrol said the vehicles met on the crest of a hill and struck head on.
Martin was pronounced dead at the scene by Scotland County Coroner Jeff Davis at 12:45 p.m. He was taken to the Memphis Funeral Home.
The patrol said neither man was wearing a seat belt.
The patrol was assisted by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, Memphis Police Department, Scotland County Ambulance and Scotland County Fire Department.
