Gastonia, NC : Highway Patrol ID’s woman killed in wreck on April, Thursday 6th 2017
A 45-year-old woman was killed and a second person injured in a two-car wreck just before noon Thursday.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Miles Road and Ike Lynch Road, north of Dallas.Febe Miranda Loria, of Lincolnton, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Highway Patrol. She was headed west in a silver Saab Aero on Miles Road when she ran a stop sign and was struck on the driver’s side door by a white Ford Edge on Ike Lynch Road, according to Highway Patrol Trooper Christopher Wade.
“Everything is still preliminary, but as of right now the only factor we have is just that the stop sign was ran,” Wade said.
The cars skidded off the road and into the front yard of a Miles Road home. Traffic was blocked temporarily in all directions, forcing cars to turn around as they came up to the intersection.
The road re-opened just before 2 p.m. Thursday.
The injured person was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
