A Summit County woman was killed and two people were critically injured in a head-on crash Tuesday morning.
Angela D. Fitzgerald, 38, of Kamas, was headed west on state Route 248 near Kamas just before 10 a.m. when her car was hit head-on by the driver of an eastbound pickup truck. The truck had drifted into the oncoming lane, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Officials don't know what caused the driver to leave his lane.
A 9-year-old girl in Fitzgerald's car was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital, and the 56-year-old man driving the truck was flown to University Hospital, UHP reported. Both were reported in critical condition Tuesday night, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, according to UHP.
