Lubbock, TX : 19-year-old dead after multi-vehicle crash on I-27 in Lubbock on Saturday, 6th October 2018

A 19-year-old man died following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Interstate 27 in Lubbock.

The Lubbock Police Department on Sunday announced that Mario Rivera-Franco was pronounced dead at a Lubbock hospital after the crash at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers were advised that a Nissan pickup truck was having maintenance issues while traveling in the southbound left lane of I-27.

A Ford-350 that was pulling a trailer was traveling behind the Nissan in the same lane. According to LPD, it appears the Ford attempted to avoid rear-ending the Nissan but the two vehicles still collided. A Chevrolet Silverado and the trailer it was pulling was also struck during the collision.
