MOUNT VERNON, AL : 3 die in Mount Vernon crash on Labor Day on Monday, 2nd September 2024

Police in Mount Vernon tell FOX10 News three people died in a vehicle crash Monday morning.

It happened on Sam Jones Avenue, east of Highway 43. Alabama State Troopers say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Police in Mount Vernon said authorities received notification of the crash about 6 a.m., and when first responders arrived the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, police said.

There’s no word yet on the identities of those killed in the crash.
