PINELLAS COUNTY, FL : 2 injured when car crashes into house in Pinellas Co. at Wild Acres Road and 126th Avenue on Friday, 1st March 2019

A car crashed into a house in Pinellas County early Friday morning, injuring two people in the car.

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. Friday at Wild Acres Road and 126th Avenue. Authorities say two people inside the car were transported to a local hospital with "trauma alert" status.

The car appears to have driven through shrubs before crashing into the house. The car wound up inside the house and tipped on its side.

George Howe lives at the home. He said he was eating breakfast and reading the newspaper when he heard a loud noise and a picture fell off a wall. He looked in his spare bedroom and saw that a car had crashed inside his home.

"I'm not actually believing what I'm seeing," he said about the moment he first saw the car in his home.

Howe said this is the fifth time a crash has happened at the intersection near his home.

"Something has to get done... the next one, number 6, may be fatal," he said.
