Brentwood, TN : 29-year-old Garrett Miller struck and killed on I-65 South in Brentwood on Friday night, March 6, 2015
A pedestrian was struck and killed along Interstate 65 in Brentwood.
The incident was reported near mile marker 69 in between the Moores Lane and Concord Road exits Friday night.
Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Garrett M. Miller of Franklin, Tenn.
Officers said Miller was walking along southbound lanes of the interstate when he was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 36-year-old Shannon R. Wilson of Evansville, Indiana.
Miller was then also hit and dragged by a second vehicle that had been traveling behind the first, according to police. Officials said the second vehicle was a 1999 Ford Econoline van driven by 61-year-old Randy Rouse of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Officers said no injuries were reported from either of the drivers or passengers in the two vehicles.
It was unclear as to why Miller was on the side of the interstate. Police said no charges were filed.
Southbound lanes were closed at mile marker 70 while officials worked to clear the scene.
Several hours after the collision, traffic could be seen backed up past Old Hickory Boulevard.
Motorists were diverted at Concord Road, as drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
