Tallahassee, FL : Woman killed after car slams into tree in St. Petersburg on Thursday, 22nd September 2016
One woman was killed and another was in serious condition on Thursday after the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 11:22 a.m., Ashlynn Harrington, 28, of Pinellas Park, was traveling south in a 2007 Pontiac G6 on Interstate 275 and lost control of the car as she was exiting onto 28th Street South, troopers said, causing the car to divert from the road and crash into a tree.
The passenger, Crystal Robinson, 28, of St. Petersburg, along with Harrington, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where she later died from her injuries, the FHP said.
Harrington was listed in serious condition at the hospital on Thursday, troopers said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
