MARICOPA, AZ : Head-on collision causes critical injuries on SR 347 on Friday, 24th January, 2020

Maricopans have been left reeling over the number of dangerous and deadly accidents this past week, including another alert from the city of Maricopa that came out early Friday morning.

“(State Route) 347 is reduced to one lane north of the city limits for a vehicle accident. There is currently no ETA for reopening of both lanes. An alternative route is recommended,” the email from the city read.According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on SR 347 at mile marker 176, just outside the city limits around 5 a.m. Though the accident was not a wrong-way crash, the two vehicles did collide head on.

One woman in her 40s was transported via ambulance in critical condition to Chandler Regional Hospital at level one trauma, and another woman, also in her 40s, was transported for minor injuries, according to Maricopa Fire Department’s spokesman Brad Pitassi.
