One died in single-vehicle accident Near Moorestown New jersey
A fatal accident in Moorestown is causing heavy delays on Route 38 at rush hour, near the stretch of highway where the female driver died around 1:30 p.m., police said.In the single-vehicle accident, a woman driving alone and heading eastbound on Route 38 between Fellowship Road and Moorestown-Mount Laurel Road veered off the road and struck a pole and several signs before striking a second pole and coming to a stop.
When Moorestown police arrived minutes later, Lt. Lee Lieber said, the driver was dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the car, he said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Lieber said.The highway was closed eastbound earlier but has since reopened, he said, with one of two lanes currently open.
Heavy traffic delays persist, he said, and he advises travelers to take alternate routes, especially during rush hour.
