BELL COUNTY, TX : DPS early morning truck-trailer accident led to DUI arrest in Bell County on Thursday, 1st August 2024

A tractor-trailer accident involving a Texas Department of Safety patrol unit led to a DUI arrest in Bell County, according to DPS.

On August 1, DPS says a trooper was conducting a traffic stop and had just made an arrest on I-35 mile marker 295. The trooper was sitting in the car with the person who was arrested when a truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer hit the left side of the patrol unit at 1:05 a.m.

No injuries were reported but there was minor damage to the patrol car and the Mercedes owned by the person who was arrested.

The driver of the truck-trailer was identified by DPS as Isreal Resillas Olalde, 51, of Mexico.

Olalde was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with open container and Fail to Slow Down/Move Over, DPS says. Olalde was transported to the Bell County Jail.
