RICHMOND, VA : Virginia State Police identify victim in deadly I-295 crash on Monday, 13th May 2024

Virginia State Police have now identified the victims in a deadly crash that shut down Southbound lanes of I-295 Monday afternoon.

VSP officials say that at 12:00 p.m. on Monday they were called to Interstate 295 at the 23.5 mile marker in Henrico County.

There investigators say a 2016 Honda Pilot driven by Jamala Saran White, a 51-year-old from South Carolina, was traveling in the left lane when her vehicle crossed the center lane and rear ended a 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

"The vehicle then overcorrected back across all lanes of traffic to the left and struck trees," Virginia State Police would write in a release.
