Monroe, NC : Firefighter, others injured in crash on Hwy 75 in Union County on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016

A firefighter and several other people were injured in a crash in Union County Wednesday morning.

The three-vehicle crash, involving a Monroe Fire Department vehicle, happened around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 75 near Fletcher Broome Road in Monroe.

Chief Ron Fowler says a firefighter was on his way to work when the accident happened. The firefighter went to Carolinas Medical Center-Main to be treated for his injuries.

Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
