Columbus, OH : Woman dies after motorcycle crash in Pleasant Township on Sunday night, July 24, 2016

An Ashville woman died Sunday night after crashing her motorcycle in Pleasant Township, authorities said.

Lee Walters, 51, was driving east on Alkire Road, east of Darby Creek Drive, in Pleasant Township at 6:17 p.m. when she drifted off the right side of the road, according the Franklin County sheriff's office.

Her motorcycle hit the edge of a ditch and driveway, went airborne, and crashed in the front yard of a private home. Walters, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from her bike, officials said.

She was taken to OhioHealth Doctor’s Hospital on the West Side by a fire medic from Prairie Township in critical condition and died an hour after the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
