TULSA, OK : 74-year-old man in wheelchair hit and killed by SUV in north Tulsa on Monday, 11th November 2024

The Tulsa Police Department said a 74-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a SUV while in an electric wheelchair in north Tulsa.

Police said officers responded near M.L.K. Boulevard and East 35th Place North around 7:30 p.m.

Charles Marshall was found dead when officers arrived.

Police say the victim was traveling southbound in the northbound outside lane in an electric wheelchair when he was hit by an SUV traveling northbound in the same lane.

Police are investigating how fast the driver was traveling, but said the speed limit for that area is 45 miles per hour. The driver is cooperating and was released pending further investigation.

There are no sidewalks on that part of the road.
