Copiah County, MS : One motorcyclist injured in vehicle crash on Tuesday October 7th 2014.

A State Trooper was involved in an accident Thursday night in Copiah County.
Witnesses say a man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle was on Highway 27 and was about to turn on Dry Grove Road. The patrolman was apparently trying to catch a speeding vehicle and had his blue lights on .
"The state trooper went to pass in the southbound lane," said Trooper Eric Henry. "There was also a motorcycle heading in the same direction northbound, failed to see the blue lights on the state trooper's car and attempted to make a left hand turn onto Dry Grove Road. The motorcycle struck the right side of the state trooper's vehicle."
"Luke was knocked senseless for a few minutes," said Dennis Lott, a friend of the man on the motorcycle."His name is Luke Rice that was riding the bike. He seemed to be okay, he had some facial lacerations, he was banged up pretty good, but mentally jarred up."
