The driver of a 2001 Mercedes, Angela Gessa of Naples, was traveling westbound on County Road 896 in the center lane and approached the Logan Boulevard intersection Monday evening about 7:30.

The Lerta vehicle then traveled into a fourth vehicle stopped in front of the Lerta vehicle driven by Hector Legrand of Naples.
The Gessa car then left the road and hit a concrete utility pole and attached telephone box.
The 2-year-old child in the Gessa's car was not hurt and secured in a safety seat.
Angela Gessa and her passenger Antonio Ramos were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
No other injuries were reported. The crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
